As we had 2 days at sea to start our cruise, we decided to have lunch in the Provence Dining room, on the Coral Princess there are 2 dining rooms, Bordeaux and Provence. Provence is the set time dining room and Bordeaux is normally reserved for Anytime dining.
New Zealand green shell mussels in teriyaki broth – Helen ordered this both as her appetizer and her entrĂ©e, Seasoned well, very fresh tasting and not overcooked. One word “Awesome” 100/100
Carbonera style rigatoni with bacon, eggs, and cheese – pasta was cooked nicely, but that’s the end of it, the sauce was very bland and it did not taste like a carbonera. 30/100
See above... ^^ Helen was really happy and took a risk in ordering a triple order of the mussels without tasting them ahead of time. She was quite content and full afterwards.
Philly steak sandwich on textured French baguette – Having had a cheesesteak recently at both the American Cheesesteak Company in Vancouver and at the Cheesecake Factory in Fort Lauderdale I was looking forward to comparing what cheesesteak on a cruise ship would be like. Unfortunately I was quite disappointed as the onion “jam” was too sweet so much so that it was overpowering, the meat was tough and the bread wasn’t anything special. 55/100
Fresh Fruit Tartlet – It was “Okay” Helen’s review just okay 65/100 1 tart instead of two would have been better. Too much cream filling. She would not order it again.
Cappuccino Ice Cream – Decent cappuccino flavor but the same gummy texture makes it not very enjoyable. 60/100
